estudiantes<\/strong>\u00a0de t\u00e9rmino de Ingenier\u00eda en Sistemas Computacionales de la\u00a0<strong>Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Tecnol\u00f3gica de Barahona<\/strong>\u00a0(Ucateba) desarrollaron una\u00a0<strong>plataforma tecnol\u00f3gica<\/strong>\u00a0que busca ayudar a los productores agr\u00edcolas a\u00a0<strong>ahorrar agua<\/strong>, reducir costos y aumentar su productividad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keysel Jos\u00e9 Dotel Moreta<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0<strong>Albert Joseph Lambert G\u00f3mez<\/strong>\u00a0son los creadores de\u00a0<strong>AgroSmart RD<\/strong>, un proyecto que recientemente obtuvo el segundo lugar en la Competencia Nacional de Emprendimiento 2026, organizada por el Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n Superior, Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda (Mescyt), por el que recibieron un premio de 450,000 pesos.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-text\">\n<li>Los j\u00f3venes llevan aproximadamente\u00a0<strong>un a\u00f1o<\/strong>\u00a0desarrollando la iniciativa, que combina una\u00a0<strong>plataforma digital<\/strong>\u00a0con\u00a0<strong>sensores<\/strong>\u00a0instalados en terrenos agr\u00edcolas para monitorear en tiempo real variables como la humedad del suelo, la temperatura y el consumo de agua.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La\u00a0<strong>informaci\u00f3n recopilada<\/strong>\u00a0por los sensores es procesada por el sistema, que genera recomendaciones al agricultor sobre la\u00a0<strong>cantidad y frecuencia del riego<\/strong>, de acuerdo con las condiciones de su cultivo.<\/p>\n<div class=\"w-full pt-2 float-left inside-related\">\n<article class=\"flex flex-wrap border-b pb-4 mb-3 inline-block\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"Relacionadas\">\n<div class=\"xl:w-10\/12 w-8\/12 pl-3\">\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Impacto ambiental y econ\u00f3mico<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<p>El proyecto tiene como\u00a0<strong>plan piloto<\/strong>\u00a0la producci\u00f3n de\u00a0<strong>banano<\/strong>\u00a0en la\u00a0<strong>regi\u00f3n sur<\/strong>, aunque sus desarrolladores aseguran que puede adaptarse a otros cultivos, como arroz, caf\u00e9, tomate y pl\u00e1tano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dotel Moreta<\/strong>\u00a0explic\u00f3 que la iniciativa surgi\u00f3 al identificar las dificultades que enfrentan\u00a0<strong>peque\u00f1os productores<\/strong>\u00a0de la\u00a0<strong>regi\u00f3n sur<\/strong>, especialmente por el acceso y aprovechamiento del agua para el riego.<\/p>\n<p>La propuesta busca que los\u00a0<strong>peque\u00f1os agricultores<\/strong>\u00a0puedan utilizar\u00a0<strong>tecnolog\u00eda<\/strong>\u00a0a un costo menor y mejorar su capacidad de competir con grandes empresas agr\u00edcolas.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab<strong>AgroSmart RD<\/strong>\u00bb pretende, adem\u00e1s, contribuir al desarrollo de una agricultura m\u00e1s eficiente mediante el uso de\u00a0<strong>datos<\/strong>\u00a0para anticipar posibles p\u00e9rdidas y estimar el comportamiento de la\u00a0<strong>producci\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Por las caracter\u00edsticas de la\u00a0<strong>regi\u00f3n sur<\/strong>, donde existen\u00a0<strong>zonas \u00e1ridas<\/strong>\u00a0y el agua constituye un recurso fundamental para la producci\u00f3n, los j\u00f3venes consideran que la herramienta podr\u00eda tener un\u00a0<strong>impacto G\u00f3mez<\/strong>\u00a0explic\u00f3 que el proyecto contempla\u00a0<strong>tres fuentes<\/strong>\u00a0principales de\u00a0<strong>ingresos<\/strong>: la venta e instalaci\u00f3n de los kits tecnol\u00f3gicos, la suscripci\u00f3n mensual a la plataforma digital y el monitoreo de los datos generados por los sensores.<\/p>\n<div id=\"dl_300x250_inread_4\" data-lazy-ad=\"\"><\/div>\n<p>Los\u00a0<strong>kits<\/strong>\u00a0tendr\u00edan tres modalidades, con precios de\u00a0<strong>35,000<\/strong>, 55,000 y\u00a0<strong>60,000 pesos<\/strong>, dependiendo de las caracter\u00edsticas de cada sistema.<\/p>\n<p>Los desarrolladores indicaron que inicialmente ellos mismos ofrecer\u00edan el\u00a0<strong>soporte t\u00e9cnico<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0<strong>mantenimiento<\/strong>\u00a0de los equipos, mientras trabajan en la\u00a0<strong>expansi\u00f3n del proyecto<\/strong>\u00a0y en la creaci\u00f3n de un departamento especializado en soporte.<\/p>\n<p>La propuesta tambi\u00e9n ha despertado inter\u00e9s en el\u00a0<strong>sector p\u00fablico<\/strong>.
